:: Molly Bloom Sprint Pentathlon (10/11/08)

**********************************************************************

Nearly forty Swim Dogs participated in Saturday's Molly Bloom Sprint Pentathlon, and even though I don't have the exact numbers, I am pretty certain that we had the largest team!  That has never happened before.

Olivia Biggers, Molly Bloom, and Claire Brennan

Sarah Henderson, Hailey Egelhoff, and Lili Vallis

In the morning session, we had twenty Swim Dogs.  In the afternoon session, we had 15, including several masters swimmers.

Tate and Coach Dana

The Biggers Family: Eric, Wes, and Olivia

I was really pleased with the swimming, and it looked like everyone really enjoyed themselves.  I must say that the "Swimming is a Family Sport" concept is really gaining some momentum, and we're turning some heads within the community!

I don't have the official results yet, but there were some particular standouts:  Isabelle Oss, Mary Gaul, and Amy Marrs; all new Swim Dogs this year.

The Swim Dog of the Meet, however, was Hailey Egelhoff who won the High Point Award for the 9 & 10 Girls.  Hailey even overcame swimming without her goggles in the 100IM...Way to stay focused and nice job, Hailey!

9 & 10 Girls High Point Winner, Hailey Egelhoff

I will post more once I get the official results from the meet director.

Finally, thanks to all who supported the meet and the cause:  Swim Dogs donated $1,000 to the Molly Bloom Foundation through your meet entries.
